MWC 2017: Motorola sends out invites to ‘Hello Moto’ event on 26 February, Moto G5 Plus expected

Lenovo has officially sent out invites to a Mobile World Congress (MWC) event set for 26 February 2017. The invites simply state ‘Hello Moto’ and feature a date and time.

There’s no other information on the invite itself, but everyone is expecting to see the unveiling of a new generation of Moto G smartphones, notably, the Motorola G5 Plus.

The G Plus is tipped to feature a 5.5-inch Full HD display (401ppi) and is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC with 3 or 4GB of RAM. We’re also expecting a 16/32GB internal storage options as well as a 16MP rear camera.

The device just might ship with Android 7.0 out of the box, making it among the first phones to do so.

Leaked images of what is alleged to be the Moto G5 also showed up on the internet about a week ago. The leaked images and information suggest that the device will include a 3,080 mAh battery and strangely, no USB Type-C.

Motorola’s Moto G handsets have earned a place for themselves in the mid-range and low-end segments by offering a great combination of build quality and specifications
